The jacket is the kind of thing you've had long enough that it stopped being a jacket and started being part of the story. Carpenter pants, boots that have actually been somewhere, a pearl bracelet that shouldn't work but completely does. You walked in when the room was already going and somehow the room reorganized itself around you. Nobody asked where you were. They were just glad you made it.
